— Pupils from the Bannockburn primary school enjoy an energetic week of wellbeing events
Pupils from St Mary’s Primary School, Bannockburn, were recently encouraged to achieve healthy minds and bodies with a week of fun activities.
The Health and Wellbeing promotion week at St Mary’s involved the whole school community participating in a number of activities in and out of the classroom aimed at promoting and developing mental, social, emotional and physical wellbeing.
Thomas Joyce, St Mary’s depute headteacher, spoke positively of the week’s events and the benefits they brought to the St Mary’s pupils.
“The children enjoyed a week of activities in and out of the classroom that encouraged them to adopt healthy and active minds and bodies,” Mr Joyce said. “Included in the week’s programme were talks from parents and community members, active fitness sessions in a variety of sports, food technology, nutrition and hygiene presentations, a visit to our local church, practical workshops in preparing healthy foods, gardening, team building exercises and a visit to the local library to learn more about internet safety.”
