13-LENTFEST-2011-PROGRAMME

Youtube preview of Lentfest play

The Archdiocese of Glasgow Arts Project has launched a youtube trailer for its Lentfest play The Turnaround.

The play will be one of the highpoints of the festival, the annual celebration in Glasgow of faith and the arts. This year’s Lentfest programme was launched today by Archbishop Mario Conti.

Written and directed by Stephen Callaghan, and performed by AGAP community theatre, The Turnaround is a modern story set in Glasgow that will be performed ‘in the round’—with the stage in the middle and seats all around it—a first for AGAP.

“Infused with Glasgow humour whilst also tackling some serious issues, the play is a fast-paced parable for Lent 2011 and carries the deeper meaning of humanity’s redemption through the sacrifice of Jesus Christ,” Mr Callaghan said.

The play will run from Thursday March 31 to Saturday April 16 at Parish halls around Glasgow.
