Man appears in court in charged with assaulting priest

A man has appeared in court charged with assaulting Canon Tom White as an Orange walk passed his church.

Bradley Wallace was arrested on Wednesday July 25. The 24-year-old from Uddingston, South Lanarkshire, appeared at a private hearing in Glasgow Sheriff Court earlier today, July 26, charged with assault, the press association reported.

He made no plea in relation to the charge and the case was continued for further examination.

Wallace was released on bail with a further court appearance to be set.

Canon White was allegedly attacked outside St Alphonsus’ Church in Glasgow’s East End on July 7.
