Last night saw a Scottish Gathering in Krakow, as hundreds of pilgrims meet up for prayers and ceilidh in Krakow before the official start of World Youth Day today.

The 400 young people, who have traveled to Krakow over the past few days in preparation for the World Youth Day celebrations with other young Catholics from across the globe, gathered in Krakow with the Bishop Keenan of Paisley, Bishop Nolan of Galloway, Bishop Robson of Dunkeld and Archbishop Leo Cushley of St Andrew’s and Edinburgh who lead the night prayer (above).

Following the night prayer service, the young people then rounded off what had been a busy day for all of the Scottish groups there, including both going to Mass and exploring their surroundings, with a ceilidh.

Dancing, laughing and waving their Scottish flags, it proved to be fun-filled night for all and a chance for the young pilgrims to unite and celebrate in a uniquely Scottish way.
