Holy Father going to Lourdes on Papal visit to France
Pope Francis will make an apostolic journey to France in 2015, according to an announcement from the Holy See this morning.
The trip will include stops in Paris and the grotto at Lourdes (above).
The Pope is already visiting Strasbourg next month to address the European Parliament, but that will not count as an official Papal visit to France.
The Holy Father is also scheduled in to go to Sri Lanka and the Philippines in January and is likely to visit the United States in September for the World Meeting of Families in Philadelphia.
Pope Francis has previously made apostolic journeys to Brazil in July 2013, the Holy Land in May 2014 in, South Korea in August 2014, and Albania in September 2014.
Pope Francis’ visit to France will be the tenth Papal visit to the European country.
