Sainthood ‘soon’ for Blessed John Paul II

A second miracle attributed to Blessed John Paul II has been reported, suggesting that the late Pope could be made a saint soon.
The revelation was made in Italy’s Panorama magazine today, citing documents sent to the Vatican.
The second miracle, details of which have yet to be reported, was chosen from among four reported miracles and documented by Bishop Slowomir Oder, the promoter of Blessed John Paul II’s Canonisation, according to Panorama.
The second miraculous healing is said to have taken place a few weeks after the late Pope John Paul II’s beatification in Rome (above) on May 1 last year—which was attended by over a million people—just six years after his death.
The magazine said the case for the miracle was being studied by experts from the Congregation for the Cause of Saints and, if it occurred, could lead to the Canonisation of the late Pope within the next 12 months.
Vatican spokesman Fr Federico Lombardi declined to comment on the report of the second miracle attributed to Polish-born Karol Wojtyla, and said that only a decree from the Congregation could officially confirm it.
The first miracle attributed to the late Pope was the healing of a French nun Sr Marie Simon-Pierre, who recovered from Parkinson’s disease.
Pope John Paull II was one of the most-travelled world leaders in history, visiting 129 countries while Holy Father, including Scotland in 1982. While Pope he Beatified 1340 people and Canonised 483 saints, more than the combined tally of his predecessors during the preceding five centuries.

I had the opportunity of seeing Pope John Paul 2 when he visited Manila, Philippines years ago. Amidst a million people in the crowd, me and my family were situated so far away from him, we could hardly see him. But we stayed just to be in his presence and be at his Holy Mass. My wife then was pregnant with our 5th child.
We named our 5th child Jonas Paul in honor of Pope John Paul, when he was born several months later.
Being able to gather a million people in his presence anywhere he went only meant he was destined to be a saint.
I now pray to him for various needs and healing.
