Lithuanian concert pianist Evelina Puzaité to perform at the re-opened St Andrew’s Metropolitan Cathedral in Glasgow
An international concert pianist will perform at St Andrew’s Metropolitan Cathedral in Glasgow next Friday as part of the celebrations to mark the building’s re-opening.
Lithuanian Evelina Puzaité, (above) who has won more than 15 piano competitions, including the Rubenstein Piano Competition in Paris and the Tel-Hal International Piano Competition in Israel, will travel from London for the concert at the Clyde-side cathedral next Friday.
She has a masters degree in music performance from London’s Guildhall School of Music and Drama and holds the artists’ fellowship there.
Her performances have taken her all over the world from Russia and the US to Israel and Greece and she has very recently launched her latest CD—Schumann, Music for Oboe and Piano.
The By the Praising of His Name concerts series, celebrating the re-opening of the cathedral, runs until June 10. Performances include Glasgow’s Phoenix Choir on Saturday April 30 and the St Mungo Singers on May 8.
