Bishop Keenan to pray the Rosary live on Facebook
BISHOP John Keenan of Paisley Diocese is to pray the Rosary live on Facebook tonight at 9.30PM through the page Free Prayer UK.
A popular social media page, Free Prayer UK was set up during lent in 2016 by a Catholic family living in Britain, with the aim of providing people with a digital platform of prayer each night before they go to sleep.
The daily streams consist of audio and visual images, such as statues and photos of Our Lady. The live streams tend to reach anywhere between 500 and 1,800 viewers.
The Facebook page currently has over 14,000 followers, with viewers who tune into the live steams often posting their prayers and intentions in the comments sections of the videos.
Viewers of the live streams often pray for many different reasons, including their families, for the lonely, and for the sick.
A spokesperson for Free Prayer UK said: “We at Free Prayer are delighted to announce that John Keenan, Bishop of Paisley Diocese in Scotland, will be leading the Rosary live on the FreePrayerUK Facebook page on Wednesday October 17, starting at 9.30PM.
“October is the Month of the Holy Rosary and Pope Francis has asked all Catholics to pray for the Church at this time of trial.
“It is an honour to have a diocesan bishop lead the prayers on Free Prayer UK at any time, and especially at this important period in the Church’s life.”
