Barrhead church gets two break-ins in three days

St John the Evangelist Church, Barrhead is appealing for witnesses after repeated break-ins.

The church has had two burglaries in the space of three days, with small amounts of money taken both times.

The first took place on Sunday night, which showed two people spotted in the grounds of the church at 11:35pm. The Church was then broken into again on Tuesday afternoon.

Parish priest Fr Paul Brady said it was the ‘first time in many years’, there had been trouble of this sort. He also praised the police for their ‘excellent’ response.

The parish has appealed for anyone who may have seen the individuals, and recognised them or a car parked in the church at the time, to contact Police Scotland on 101 to further their investigation into the matter.
