SATURDAY MAY 24

– Race Night. Come along and enjoy a traditional night at the races and give your support to the Perth Catholic Youth Project Pilgrims as they make their final preparations for Compostela. Prizes for every race. Entry £5 (adults) to include a glass of wine or soft drink and finger buffet. 7.30pm, in St John’s Church Hall, Perth

SUNDAY MAY 25

– The Great Mission for Healing through the Gospel. In answer to Pope Francis’ call that ‘we need to proclaim the gospel on every street corner, preaching the good news of the kingdom and healing, even with our preaching, every kind of disease and wound’ parishioners from St Thomas’ will hold a public mission in St Enoch Square in Glasgow, from 1.30-3pm. SUNDAY June 1.

– May Procession. Procession by Club Romano of Dundee and the Perth Italian Association in the grounds of St Mary’s Monastery, Kinnoull. The procession through the grounds of the Monastery is preceded by Mass in Italian and culminates with the crowning of Our Lady’s statue in the Grotto. Begins 3pm.

– May Youth Event. Family sponsored
walk from Lunderston Bay to St Ninian’s, Gourock. The walk will be followed by Mass and a BBQ. Info from www.rcdop.org.uk, youth@ rcdop.org.uk and Facebook: Paisley Diocese. 3-7pm.

TUESDAY MAY 27

– Italian Association Bingo. Fundraising Bingo Tea in St John’s Church Hall, Perth by the Perth Italian Association. Tickets £1 from members. Begins 7.30pm.

WEDNESDAY MAY 28

– Referendum Reflection Group. How can our faith help us in our reflection on the upcoming Independence Referendum? What are our hopes and dreams for our nation, whatever the outcome of the vote? The Referendum Reflection Group will meet to continue it’s focus on the role of Faith in the forthcoming referendum on Scottish independence. The group is non-political and covers a different topic each week. St Mary’s Cathedral House, Edinburgh, from 7.30pm-8.30pm. All welcome, email [email protected] for more info. – One + One is Greater than Two. Bishop John Keenan (below) will launch a new Discernment Initiative for young men and women in St Mirin’s Cathedral Halls. The format will be Catechesis, Q&A session, adoration and agape. If you are a young adult, interested in
the life of the Church in your diocese then why not come along and listen to Bishop John’s vision for service and how 
you can discern your call within your local church? All are welcome to an evening of prayer, sharing and fellowship.

-Newman Association seminar on Receptive Ecumenism and Catholic Learning. Seminar led by Dr Josh Furnal, Newman Association Research Fellow in ecumenical theology in the Department of Theology and Religious Studies at Durham University. Begins 5.45 pm in room 430a, St Andrew’s Building, University of Glasgow. All welcome.
