Dumbarton churches will celebrate St Andrew’s Day together

Ecumenical service planned at Dumbarton Castle at noon on Nov 30

Dumbarton Churches Together is having a service at Dumbarton Castle to celebrate St Andrew’s Day on Saturday, November 30, at 12 noon. Provost Douglas McAllister, Lord McFall and Donald Hardie, the Keeper of the Castle, will be joining the multi faith group from churches across West Dunbartonshire.

Dumbarton Churches Together is also planning services for St Patrick and St Columba.

Tim Rhead of St Augustine’s Scottish Episcopal Church in Dumbarton High Street is co-ordinator of the celebration.

“We are in touch with Faith in Community Scotland to discuss the possibility of the services becoming part of the Tackling Sectarianism Together initiative, which is supporting projects in various parts of Scotland,” he said.
