All Souls Orchestra comes to Scotland
Conductor Noel Tredinnick and musicians on five-date Scottish visit as part of 40th anniversary tour
The All Souls Orchestra are celebrating their 40th anniversary by taking their Prom Praise tour throughout Scotland from the end of this month
The Prom Praise concerts feature concert performances and also opportunities for the audience to reflect and join in with hymns performed.
Conductor Noel Tredinnick (above) is making a pre-tour visit to Edinburgh this week. Since 1972 he has been organist and director of music at All Souls, Langham Place. Three years later he began working as a professor at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, and still teaches conducting, orchestration and music awareness.
In 1987 he was appointed artistic director of the Langham Arts Trust to develop the expanding ministry of the All Souls musicians in concerts, publications and recordings.
During the tour, which starts at Glasgow Royal Concert Hall on Friday October 26, the orchestra will collaborate with Scottish musicians such as Perth childrens’ choir Fair City Singers and Macduff-born violinist Caroline Sharp.
Also, joining the orchestra on stage will also be US musical theatre star David Erik and rising classical soprano Katharine Hobden.
