Argyll and the Isles launches This is Our Faith

The Catholic Church in Scotland is to launch This is Our Faith, the new religious education syllabus, for Argyll and the Isles Diocese at St Columba's Cathedral in Oban on Thursday June 7 at 12 noon.

The syllabus has been developed by the Catholic Church in Scotland and approved by the Church authorities in Rome.

The Argyll and the Isles launch date was specifically chosen by Bishop Joseph Toal (above) as it is close to the Feast of St Columba, the patron saint of the diocese (June 9)

The launch will be attended by children, parents, parishioners and clergy from across the diocese and a number of invited guests from the education authorities.

Michael McGrath, director of the Scottish Catholic Education Service, will give a presentation to those gathered.

The new syllabus offers great hope for religious education and formation of young people in homes, schools and parishes.
