Stand up for our Christian values that are under attack

Tom Knight gives details of Knights of St Columba weekend of action and witness this month

The Knights of St Columba, the United Kingdom’s leading organisation for Catholic laymen, are holding a nationwide weekend of action and witness from April 27 -29, with the theme Our Christian Values Under Attack.

The weekend will start with Masses throughout through out mainland Britain and the Channel Islands on the Friday evening. On the Saturday there will be a day of Eucharistic Adoration and Rosary between 10am and 4pm. The weekend will conclude at the normal Sunday morning Mass, joining with the parishioners to strengthen the message.

In Glasgow the services will be in St Alphonsus, London Road, Calton, beginning with Mass at 7.30 pm on the Friday and all concerned Christians will be welcome.

The Knights of St Columba believe that the ‘silent majority’ have to show solidarity in the face of rampant secular attacks on our Christian values, such as forcing through a law to legalise and legitimise same-sex ‘marriage’ against the wishes of Christians and those of other faiths in our country.

It is hoped that those politicians putting themselves forward for election will bear in mind that their actions in office will be under constant scrutiny and that the electorate will be reminded of their voting records when election time comes again.

The Supreme Knight Ron Lynch said: “We call upon you, our fellow Brothers and Sisters in Christ , to join the Knights of St Columba and their families in a Weekend of Witness. We will be praying that our politicians heed the message of faith and are prepared, if elected, to uphold Human Life from Conception to the Grave and Defend the Sanctity of Marriage between a Man and a Woman”
